Curator's Choice Lecture Series: Cowboys and Cattle Drives

Saturday, August 3, 2019

Come down to the Farmington Museum to learn about the history of America’s Wild West from the curator, Jeffrey Richardson in the latest installments of the Curator’s Choice Lecture Series. In August see the presentation, "Cowboys and Cattle Drives." The story of the American cowboy traces its origins to the Spanish introduction of cattle and horses to the new world. From there, a mixing of cultures and customs created a uniquely American ranching tradition. Learn about the history of nineteenth-century cowboys before dime novels, Wild West shows, and movies transformed men into myths.
