Farmington, NM- In an article released by the Santa Fe New Mexican, the Taos News incorrectly reported that contaminated soil in an area near homes in the Rio Grande, will be moved to Farmington.
Envirotech has confirmed to Farmington city officials that the dirt is not being moved to Farmington, but to the Envirotech Landfarm (#3) Soil Remediation Facility located at #43 RD 7175, 15 miles south of Bloomfield, NM. Please note, this is not in the city limits of Bloomfield.
Farmington City Manager, Rob Mayes wishes to ease the community's concern, "Community members should be assured that no contaminated dirt will be relocated to Farmington."
Questions regarding this matter should be directed to Envirotech. Enviotech's office number is listed as: 505.632.0615
The City of Farmington will be contacting the Santa Fe New Mexican, seeking a correction to be printed.
