  2. Museum EdVenture: Archaeology of Dinetah

    October 20, 2018, 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM @ Farmington Museum

    Join us for a Museum EdVenture! On Saturdays throughout the year, you will have the opportunity to explore the cultural heritage of the Four Corners on an all-day, adults-only field trip. Transportation to and from the museum is provided. Participants are asked to bring a sack lunch. Farmington Museum Foundation Members, call to get a registration discount. On October 20, join archaeologist Doug Dykeman on a day-long tour of some off-the-beaten-path sites Dinétah. We will explore remote pueblitos, including Three Corn, Old Fort, and Jesus Canyon ruins and riveting rock art. The EdVenture leaves at 8:00 a.m. and will return at 6:00 p.m. Register online at under “Exploring the Four Corners” or by calling the Farmington Museum at (505) 599-1400.

    Would you like to learn more about herbs, native plants, and xeriscape landscaping, or do you just enjoy gardening? Come and help prepare the Riverside Nature Center Xeriscape Demonstration Garden for fall as staff and volunteers groom the gardens, update the signs, and enjoy working together. There are tasks for everyone whatever your skills or physical abilities.

    The Friends of the Nature Center support the programs, activities, and development of facilities at Riverside Nature Center, and are kept abreast of all new plans and developments.
