    Fighting Social Media's Influence on Teen Mental Health Because Their Lives Matter. Their Voice Matters. Youth advocate, social media activist and TEDx speaker Collin Kartchner will be speaking a the Farmington Civic Center as part of the #SaveTheKids Community Night. This event is free and open to the public. In 2018, Collin Kartchner started a nationwide movement called #SavetheKids and has been on a crusade to help people both young and old to rise above the negative effects of social media & screen-addiction, while showing the world how to use it for doing good. Now he's on a crusade to save teens from social media's potential destruction to their self-esteem and mental health, and empowering parents to reconnect with their kids.     Knot tying is an old-fashioned skill that still comes in handy and is fun to learn. Make your own sample of rope using an ancient hand method, try the pioneer rope-making machine, tie some useful knots, and learn rope tricks. Come to learn or share your own favorite skills with knots. Children should be able to tie a bow or shoestring.

    This annual photo show, featuring the work of local photographers will be on exhibit at the nature center. Photos show wildlife, scenery, and activities in the Animas River parks. Want to enter the show? If you would like to enter your photographs for inclusion in the show submit up to five (5) photos taken of scenery, people, wildlife, and activities in Animas or Berg Parks in Farmington. Plan to print and mount them for the March show.
