    Create art from recycled materials, learn about curbside recycling, take a guided trail walk, learn about the Xericscape Demonstration Garden, and try other activities with staff and volunteers from our Parks Department at Riverside Nature Center in Animas Park. Bring your own art from recycled materials to show and share.

    Don’t miss the free community Health & Safety Fair at Sycamore Park Community Center in Farmington on April 21 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Everyone, come and register for fee door prizes. There will be 30+ vendors with wonderful health and safety information. If you are interested in becoming a vendor, contact Natalie at (505) 566-2481. In addition, we are happy to be collaborating with Childhaven’s Kite Flying Festival for this event.

  3. Gardening Classes

    April 24, 2018, 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM @ Riverside Nature Center

    Do you want to grow your own food but don't know how to get started? Learn the fundamentals of gardening through this four class introductory series. This class will cover where to put your garden, how to prepare your garden, what to grow, and how to care for your garden. Topics include garden planning, the basics on soil and watering; how to prepare a garden bed and how to plant for success. Leave with the knowledge and skills you need to save money and improve the health of your family and the environment by growing successfully your own food. This class will be taught by the San Juan County Agriculture Extension Agent, Bonnie Hopkins. Seating is limited to 10 participants and is first come first serve for paid participants.     Join the Farmington Police Department at Sycamore Park Community Center for Choices: An Inspirational Presentation dealing with domestic violence from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Hear a story of a domestic violence survivor, learn about the realities of domestic violence and hear victim advocate updates.   5. Atomic Teen Science Cafe

    April 27, 2018, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ Farmington Museum

    Teens 13 to 17 years old, join us for live Atomic Teen Science Cafes. Cafes provide teens interested in current science the opportunity to interact with scientists in a fun and informal setting. Come for amazing science, food (dinner is provided), and fun! If you need a ride from the southwest side of town, a shuttle will take you from Sycamore Park Community Center to the Farmington Museum!   6. Bark in the Park & Doggie Dash

    April 28, 2018, 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM @ Animas Park

    Run, Romp, and play at the Farmington Regional Animal Shelter, 133 Browning Parkway, in the Animas Park grounds with your favorite canine friend and family. Educational and entertaining activities will abound for the whole family. The Doggie Dash loop in the park starts at 10:00 a.m., and approximately two (2) miles. The loop starts at the Riverfest Runs location in Animas Park. Pre-registration for the event will be from March 1 through April 28, 5:00 p.m., and guarantees you a shirt and your walking pal a doggie bandanna. Doggie Dash check-in will start at 8:30. Shirts will be available for sale when the Bark in the Park begins. Proceeds will benefit the Farmington Regional Animal Shelter through the Regional Animal and Pet Shelter Foundation.   8. Full Moon Hike - SOLD OUT

    April 30, 2018, 7:00 PM - 11:00 PM @ Farmington Museum

    Ever wonder what hoodoos look like in the moonlight? Join the Farmington Museum for a hike in the Bisti Badlands during the full moon and find out! Space is limited. This trip is for adults. Registration is required and can be completed at www.fmtn.org/WebTrac under “Exploring the Four Corners” or at the museum. Please dress warmly and bring a flashlight if you have one.
