The Farmington Museum and the Farmington Museum Foundation will host their annual One Great Day of Shopping event as part of its membership appreciation day at the Farmington Museum. There will be a wide variety of items on sale, entertainment, book-signings, and more. During the event, Farmington Museum Foundation new and renewing 2018 members may enjoy a 30% discount on purchases from the museum gift store. Present 2017 members may enjoy a 20% discount on purchases. These discounts are off the regular non-member price and good only for the day. Discounts will not apply to consignment and sale merchandise.

Ever wonder what hoodoos look like in the moonlight? Join the Farmington Museum for a hike in the Bisti Badlands during the full moon and find out! Space is limited. This trip is for adults. Registration is required and can be completed at www.fmtn.org/WebTrac under “Exploring the Four Corners” or at the museum. Please dress warmly and bring a flashlight if you have one.

Some of the wildlife in Animas Park are most interesting just at sunrise. Come walk the park trails and enjoy the beginning of the day on a refreshing fall morning. Coffee and hot chocolate will be ready at the Nature Center when we begin. Bring your own munchies for the trail walk if you wish. Dress warmly and bring binoculars if you have them. No pets, please.

Frank Bowman, a flintknapper who makes stone weapons using the techniques and styles of ancient hunters, will be demonstrating his craft. Mr. Bowman uses stone and antler tools to make points of all types and sizes, while explaining his craft and the way in which ancient people hunted and lived. This is your chance to see a fine demonstration and ask questions. A few samples may be available for sale.
