The Farmington Museum has a large collection of photographs that document the history of the city and the surrounding areas. The images highlight the diversity of the region, from the people who call it home to the industries that drive the economy to the natural environment we all share. Over fifty examples from the collection spanning almost one hundred years, from 1884 to 1979, are on display.

The Farmington Museum welcomes the return of the Plein Air Painters of the Four Corners. For sixteen years, this group has been dedicated to creating art outdoors, a practice called plein air, which allows for direct observation in capturing light, shadow, and color. The exhibition in the museum’s lobby features approximately 40 works from artists across New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, and Arizona.

Drop in at Riverside Nature Center between 1:00 and 4:00 p.m. with your unidentified rock and mineral finds to have experts identify them. Tour a gas and oil well and learn about petroleum geology. Look at the collections of the Farmington Museum as well as those of some lifelong rockhounds. Learn about volcanoes, fossils, and careers in earth science. This is a day for all ages! Scouts who bring their badge books can get requirements signed by our consultants.

May 26 - "Planting the Gardens, Grow a Row" Mapping the garden and sharing the surplus.
