For sixteen years, this group has been dedicated to creating art outdoors, a practice called plein air, which allows for direct observation in capturing light, shadow, and color.     Join us at the Farmington Public Library for a celebration of the iconic author and illustrator Maurice Sendak! Presented by the Farmington Public Library Foundation. The Maurice Sendak Memorial Exhibition is a retrospective of original works by Maurice Sendak. The collection has been on tour since 2013, the 50th anniversary of the publication of Where the Wild Things Are. This collection is exclusive to one location in each state, and the Farmington Public Library is the only place in New Mexico where you will be able to see rare and exclusive works by Maurice Sendak.

  1. Travel Across New Mexico

    Help us travel enough miles (386 to be exact) to cross New Mexico on the new ADA accessible trail at the Fairgrounds Soccer Complex in Farmington! Walk, wheel, jump, or even dance laps around the 1/2 mile trail with hundreds of other people to show support for active lifestyles and a local charity!! Show us your unique way of traveling and/or participate in free activities and demonstrations for leading healthy lives. And for those that like to take things slow and easy, join us during the Serenity Laps, where we will keep the speed limit and silliness down. The first 200 participants will get a "Travel Across New Mexico" t-shrit.
