The City of Farmington Attorney’s Office is committed to providing Farmington with high-quality legal advice and representation. The office assists Farmington in implementing its goals and policies to achieve its full potential as “a great place to live, work, and play.”

The City of Farmington Attorney’s Office performs legal services on behalf of Farmington City Government. The City Attorney, Deputy City Attorney and Assistant City Attorney handle a broad range of legal matters for the city as a municipal corporation, not for individual citizens.

The office initiates and defends civil lawsuits on behalf of the City; drafts and interprets ordinances, participates in negotiations, reviews contracts, provides legal opinions to City administrators, and prosecutes DWI and other traffic and misdemeanor criminal offenses that occur within the City.

The office provides support to the Mayor and Council, City Manager and City departments in meeting the legal challenges that impact the safety, welfare and quality of life of the residents of Farmington.
