Farmington Electric Utility Grant Awards
EECBG - $191,800
The overall purpose of this award is to attain higher energy efficiency in municipal infrastructure at the City of Farmington. Funds received from this award will be used to replace Mercury Vapor bulbs in at least 100 street lights with energy efficient Light Emitting Diode [LED] bulbs; conduct energy audits for four energy inefficient municipal buildings and based on audit results improve the overall energy efficiency of the buildings; and lastly retrofit one baseball park int he City with Metal Halogen [MH] lights. The overall outcome of these projects should be less energy used and will be measured by a comparison of kilowatt hours [kWh] of electricity used after project completion with the amount used before the project was implemented. Metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions for our sub region of the country will be calculated based on the energy saved for each project. Jobs created and retained for each project will soon be shown.
