Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program -$444,889
This grant was awarded under a project to procure American source law enforcement equipment for the Farmington Police Department and the San Juan County Sheriff's Department. The Farmington Police Department plans to utilize the funds to purchase various police equipment which has been partially or completely underfunded to to recent recessionary budget adjustments. These items include patrol vehicle equipment, ammunition, bullet restraint vests, uniforms, and other police equipment. The San Juan County Sheriff's Department plans to utilize the funds to purchase mobile radios for compliance under the Federal Communication Commission narrowband requirement.

COPS Hiring Recovery Program [CHRP] - $1,065,130
The COPS Hiring Recovery Program [CHRP] provides funding directly to law enforcement agencies to hire and/or rehire career law enforcement officers in an effort to create and preserve jobs, and to increase their community policing capacity and crime prevention efforts.

STOP - Violence Against Women - $101,304
Providing a specially trained unit of certified law enforcement officers to work in conjunction with existing victim advocates, the Domestic Violence Advocacy and Law Enforcement response Team [DVALERT] will improve police response to victims of domestic violence and stalking. The grant will fund one DVALERT assistant, one DVALERT Detective, DVALERT patrol incentive pay to six (6) officers and travel reimbursement for Advocacy in Action training.

Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program-Regll - $182,274
This grant provides funding for an additional agent and administrative assistant for Region II Narcotic Task Force to assist in their efforts to eliminate the distribution of illegally controlled substances considered to be a menace and detriment to the health, safety, and welfare of the residents of New Mexico. Agent equipment, computers, and software are also being funded by this grant to support Region II efforts.
