SALARY RANGE

• $2,630 / Mo. Probationary salary
• Annual increases until maximum reached at 6 years of service $3,292/ Mo.

RECRUIT QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalency
• Eyesight correctable to 20/40, no progressive eye disease
• Valid drivers license and ability to obtain an applicable commercial drivers license
• Age 18 minimum

DUTIES

Firefighters perform emergency medical services, fire suppression, rescue and fire prevention work. Firefighters are assigned to a fire company and work a 24 hour shift, with an average 56 hour work week. Typical work during a shift involves checking and maintaining equipment, building and grounds maintenance, training on a variety of technical subjects, public education, fire inspections, preplanning and response to emergencies.
