The Farmington Downtown Association's Main Street Program promotes and organizes special events in downtown Farmington and addresses economic revitalization and architechtural design and facade improvements in the on-going revitalization of our historic downtown district. The local Main Street program is a public/private partnership combining the efforts and funds of local government, downtown merchants, area businesses, community leaders and volunteers.

Historic downtown Farmington boasts a large number of traditional trading posts and art galleries, as well as a restored theater, bookstore and microbrewery. Downtown Farmington hosts a free weekly music series every Thursday evening from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in Orchard Plaza beginning in June, featuring jazz, blues, and local talent as well as a free lunch concert every Friday beginning in June in Orchard Plaza from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm featuring old cowboy stanards.

Main Street features beautifully restored historic buildings that house an eclectic mix of galleries, antique stores, trading posts and eateries. Children will love the E3 Chilren's Museum located two blocks from Main Street and people of all ages will enjoy downtown Farmington from the annual New Mexico Streetrodders Hot Rod Show in July and the Downtown Fall Crawl in September, featuring rock crawling trucks, music, food and crafts on Main Street.
