FARMINGTON ANIMAL SHELTER
The Farmington Animal Shelter provides service to Farmington residents, but accepts animals from San Juan County Animal Control who brings animals to the shelter from across the county.
The current facility faces overcrowding in a land-locked, inconvenient location. Because of this, and many other reasons, efforts continue to construct a Regional Animal Shelter to replace the Farmington Animal Shelter.
The City of Farmington is hosting a remote ACO/ACT training class (Basic Animal Care Tech 8 hours and Certified Euthanasia Tech 12 hours) on May 15 $175 - $150 ER and May 16 - 17 CET $250 - $225 or COMBO BOTH $375-$350 ER. Deadline is May 10. Contact Angie Arnold 599-1080 or email register at register@txacademyaco.com

PETFINDER.COM
As part of our ongoing efforts to increase our adoption rates, all our pets are listed on Petfinder.com.
SUNDAY AT PETCO
The shelter continues to cultivate our relationship with Petco by taking cats to the store - they get to stay there until they are adopted! We also take our dogs to Petco on Sundays for adoption. Drop by and chat with us!
SAVE A LIFE - SPAY OR NEUTER
Each year, thousands of homeless animals pass through our doors. Do your part to help reduce these numbers. Please spay or neuter your pets. The Humane Society of the Four Corners and the San Juan Animal League perform spays and neuters at reduced cost for eligible people.
Tips for a Healthy, Happy Pet
| 1. Give it lots of love. 2. Proper nutrition. 3. Regular veterinary visits and vaccinations. Your vet should know your pet like your pediatrician knows your child. 4. Love your pet. |
5. Make a commitment to your pet for the rest of its life. 6. For puppies: parvo and distemper vaccinations at 7-8 weeks old and booster shots over the next several months. 7. Rabies vaccinations for all dogs and cats by the age of 3 months. |
