Pinon Hills Golf Course is dedicated to the development of the game. We offer a wide range of instructional programs to fit all levels of playing ability. The first step in the lesson process is to seek help. Second, it is important to know what type of instruction you are looking for.
WHAT TYPE OF LESSON SHOULD I TAKE?
BEGINNER CLINICS: These classes are designed as an introduction to the game of golf. The clinic will cover the fundamentals of the swing: short game, rules, and etiquette. These classes are designed for new players; but they can be helpful as a refresher course for all beginning golfers.
PRIVATE LESSONS:
Private lessons allow for personal one on one instruction. You and your instructor will look at your specific needs. Private lessons are available by appointment and may be scheduled anytime.
Locals Day--Every Monday--Beginning at Noon
Hey Local Golfers . . . Monday is your day at Pinon Hills Golf Course. Every Monday afternoon, you can play 18 holes with a cart for only $30! This offer is good for San Juan County residents every Monday, starting at noon. Reservations are recommended up to 3 days in advance, so don't forget to call and reserve your spot!
Pinon Hills Classic
Saturday & Sunday, July 11 & 12
Tee Times starting at 7:00 a.m.
Register early for this annual tournament at Pinon Hills Golf Course. The entry fee is $120 per player and includes green fee, cart, range balls, lunch both days, and awards. This is a 36-hole stroke play event by USGA rules for 18 holes per day with an optional Friday night shootout.
The tournament is open to the first 120 amateur golfers with an active USGA-GHIN handicap or approved USGA index. Flights will include men’s, senior men’s 50 and up, and ladies. Payout will be $1,300 per flight – based on a full field 1/3 of flight will be paid. Registration deadline is Tue, Jul 7 at 5pm. No refunds after the deadline.

Low Gross Champion! This year’s low gross champion will receive an original autographed painting by Farmington’s own Michael Battaglia.
Civitan Shootout! We will host a shootout/barbeque at Civitan golf Course. This is an optional event with a $20 entry ($10 – food and drink, $10 – shootout winners). Players will play a 5-hole qualifying round between 2pm and 5pm on Fri, Jul 10. Burgers and chicken will be served beginning at 5:30 p.m. The top three players of the shootout will be paid out at a rate of 50% to 1st place, 30% to 2nd, and 20% to 3rd.
Senior Flight! Seniors age 55 and up will be eligible to play in both the men’s flight and the senior flight. Seniors placing in both a men’s flight and the senior flight will receive the higher of the two payouts.
Ladies Flight! Ladies only, payout will be determined based on the number of entries into this flight.

Junior Golf Camp

The Pinon Hills Golf Course 2009 Junior Camp is designed for children who are new to the game of golf or need improvement on the basic fundamentals. These camps will be held Mon – Thurs for one hour per age group. This class will focus on the basic fundamentals, rules, and etiquette. The cost is $25.
Age 12 to 17 – 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
Age 9 to 11 – 9:45 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.
Age 7 to 8 – 11:00 a.m. – Noon

Advanced Junior Golf Camp

The Pinon Hills Golf Course 2009 Advanced Junior Camp is designed for kids currently playing the game. This program will meet Mon – Thurs for 1.5 hours per day for kids ages 10 to 17. Two days will be spent at Pinon Hills Golf Course reviewing the fundamentals of the full swing and short game. Two days will be spent at Civitan Golf Course on course instruction. The cost is $35.
