Swim Shuttle

The Sycamore Park Community Center swim shuttle will go to the Farmington Aquatic Center.  Entry fees are $2 per person and all participants must have a signed permission slip to join in the fun.  For more information, call (505) 566-2480.

 

San Juan County Victim Impact Panel

6:30 p.m.

The Sycamore Park Community Center is the host for the San Juan County Impact Panel – preventing tragedy through education.  The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the presentation will begin at 7:00 p.m. – the doors will be locked at 7:00 p.m. and latecomers will not be allowed admittance.  There is a $20 fee for each court-ordered attendee at the panel presentation – cash or money orders only.  Visitors are welcome at no cost.  For more information, call Carol Kohler at (505) 334-8111.

 

Keep it Clean

Farmington Clean & Beautiful will hold free educational activities at the Sycamore Park Community Center.  This class happens every month on the second Tuesday and provides information, games, and activities related to keeping our community environment clean and healthy.  For more information, call (505) 566-2480.

 

Skateway USA Field Trip

6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Once a month, the Sycamore Park Community Center shuttle goes to Skateway USA for evening skate.  Fees are $2 to get in and skate rental is $2 for quads or $3 for blades.  Personal skates are allowed at Skateway USA.  All participants must have a signed permission slip to attend.  For more information, call (505) 566-2480.

 

Mother Son Dodgeball Tournament

This is our mother/son event for 2011 at the Sycamore Park Community Center.  This is an event especially for mothers and sons to build memories that will last a lifetime.  Tickets are $4 per person and include dodgeball, ice cream, and a picture to cherish for years to come.  For more information, call (505) 566-2480.

 

Great American Cleanup

3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Farmington has been chosen as the launch city for the State of New Mexico Great American Cleanup.  Farmington Clean & Beautiful will host an event to kickoff the campaign at the Sycamore Park Community Center.  Several New Mexico Clean & Beautiful affiliates will be in attendance along with (possibly) representatives from the national Keep America Beautiful staff.  The Mayor, City Council, City Manager, all members of the media and the public are invited.  From 4pm to 6pm visitors may also enjoy the Lucky Leprechaun event at the center.

 

The Great American Cleanup began in 1986 as a small, but powerful, litter cleanup event in 1,000 communities in 21 states and has grown to become the nation’s largest community improvement program with nearly 4 million volunteers in 33,700 communities in all 50 states.  30,000 events take place during the 3-month campaign that engage volunteers to clean-up, green-up, fix-up, and reduce/reuse/recycle.  For more information, call (505) 599-1426.

Tax Preparation

This tax preparation program at the Sycamore Park Community Center is sponsored by the San Juan County Financial Literacy Group and Tax Help New Mexico.  It is a free program for households that earned under $50,000 last year and are using the Schedule C EZ form to file.  To make an appointment, or for more information, call Herman Sedano at (505) 385-8437.
