This interactive exhibit at the Farmington Museum features six women artists and a turn-of-the-century trunk.  It explores questions of identity, legacy, and what it means to be a creator of art in connection with a larger society.  The show features a variety of media including:  film, writing, music, photos, textiles, sculpture, and personal treasures that together weave a community of art.  Visitors are invited to collaborate by adding their own art, stories, and responses.  For more information, call (505) 599-1169.

 

“From Dinosaurs to Drill Bits” Tour

“A Farming Town Grows Up” Tour

“Three Waters Trading Post” Tour

2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Let Harris M. Richard give you a tour of the Farmington Museum’s “Three Waters Trading Post” every third Thursday of the month.  The exhibit features a walk-through replica of a 1930s trading post with a bull pen stocked with period goods and artifacts, a pawn room and office showcases jewelry and rugs.  While you’re there for the tour, learn more about this fascinating time from the computer kiosk and trading posts map outside this exhibit.  For more information, call (505) 599-1174.
