The Farmington Downtown Association’s MainStreet Program is committed to promoting commerce, culture and community in historic downtown Farmington. The Program promotes and organizes special events in downtown Farmington, addresses economic revitalization and architectural design and façade improvements for the on-going revitalization of Farmington’s historic downtown district. The MainStreet Program is a public/private partnership combining the efforts and funds of local government, downtown merchants, area businesses, community leaders and volunteers.

Historic downtown Farmington has a large number of traditional trading posts and art galleries, as well as a beautifully restored theater, bookstore, microbrewery and unique specialty stores. Throughout the year, downtown Farmington hosts a number of special events: TGIF, Downtown Days, The Rod Run and Safe Treats. These events provide residents and visitors alike the opportunity to experience the hospitality and vitality of historic downtown Farmington.
