Patrol Division

The Patrol Division is considered the “backbone” of any law enforcement agency; the Farmington Police Department is no different. The Patrol Division operates three shifts, which serve seven days a week, 365 days a year. The Patrol Division is the primary responder to all calls for service and it is our primary goal to provide the most prompt and professional response possible. The Farmington Police Department responded to nearly 70,000 calls for service and conducted approximately 28,000 traffic stops in 2008. Officers handled a variety of calls ranging from reports of minor vandalism to homicide investigations. The Patrol Division works in conjunction with Community Service Officers, Police Assistants, District Coordinators, Downtown Bicycle Officers, Gang Unit, Volunteer Observation Patrols, Traffic Officers, DWI Officers and the K-9 Unit. These dedicated individuals provided quality law enforcement services to our community.
