Project Purpose: In cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration and New Mexico Department of Transportation, the City of Farmington is developing plans for the Piñon Hills Boulevard Extension. The purpose of the Piñon Hills Boulevard Extension project is to:

  1. Improve system connectivity to serve northeast Farmington’s long-term transportation needs.
  2. Provide access to the growing Crouch Mesa area on the east side of the Animas River.
  3. Serve forecasted increases in traffic demand expected over the next 20 years.

Public Hearing Purpose: The purpose of the public hearing is to present the findings of the environmental assessment and obtain comments from the public on the proposed project.

6:00 pm open house with 6:15 pm presentation
Location: Farmington Museum and Visitors Center Gateway Park, 3041 East Main Street

Environmental Assessment Availability: The environmental assessment will be available for review during a 30-day comment period beginning on August 11, 2010 and ending on September 13, 2010.  The full environmental assessment may be viewed at the following locations:
