Where is the Recycle Center?
RECYCLING DROP OFF -- The Farmington Recycling Facility is located at 400 S. Orchard, 505-325-8230. Hours of operation are 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Tuesday thru Friday and 8:00 am – 3:00 pm on Saturday. The facility is closed on Sunday and Monday.
I would like to order a recycling cart. How do I get one?
Call 505-327-6284 Monday thru Friday from 9am to 4pm or Saturday from 9am to noon.
When will my cart be delivered?
Your cart will be delivered within five working days of your request.
What does the cart look like?
The Recycling Carts will be green with black lid.
When do I put the cart out for collection?
You will be receiving a schedule with the cart delivery. This schedule will indicate the first day that you may place your recycling cart out. It will be the same day as your regular trash collection - but will be every other week.
Are there any rate exemptions?
Yes. If you qualify for LIHEAP assistance, you will receive a rate exemption.
Is recycling mandatory?
No. You do not have to order a cart or recycle.
Will I be charged if I choose not to recycle?
Yes. Solid waste rates were increased for all residents and businesses to pay for the cost of the program.
What can be recycled in the Single Stream process?
Magazines, junk mail, office paper, phone books, brown paper bags, newspapers, plastic 1-7, flattened cardboard, aluminum cans, foil, pie tins, paperboard, steel cans and empty aerosol cans.
What can't be recycled in the Single Stream process?
Plastic bags, garbage, glass (glass can still be recycled at the recycling center on Orchard).
Who gets to participate in the program?
Curbside recycling is only offered inside city limits and only to residential, single unit homes up to and including four-plex housing units.
