The Red Apple Transit is the public transit bus system for the City of Farmington. Beginning in 2001, the City of Farmington has provided both fixed-route and demand response services. From 2001 until 2011, the Red Apple Transit has enjoyed tremendous growth from a small rural service to an urbanized area service with annual ridership growing from 20,000 per year to over 11,000 per month. Routes have also extended to the surrounding San Juan County areas, including the communities of Aztec, Bloomfield, and Kirtland.
The Red Apple Transit operates Monday thru Saturday, 7:00am till 6:00pm. The buses will not run on the following Holidays: News Year's, Martin Luther King, Presidents, Good Friday, Memorial, Independence, Labor, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Days.
Dial-A-Ride demand response service is available on a first come, first serve basis within the Farmington city limits only. Reservations must be made with a minimum 24 hour advance notice required. Reservations for Dial-A Ride and Paratransit services can be made any time during system operational hours and on Sundays for the following Monday. Reservations may be made up to 14 days in advance. Paratransit reservations may be made for the following day service. Call 505-325-3409 to make reservations.
