Largest Swimming Lesson Ever!

The Farmington Aquatic Center will be a host participant in The World's Largest Swimming Lesson on Thursday, June 18th, from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m.

The World's Largest Swimming Lesson™ is designed to build awareness and generate local and national press attention about the vital importance of teaching kids to swim in order to help prevent drowning.  Join Farmington Aquatic’s American Red Cross Certified Instructors for a specially designed curriculum for the duration of a 30-minute lesson. The curriculum is developed by a team of leading water safety and swim instruction professionals and will follow an easy, basic lesson plan to allow for the broadest participation possible.

In the last five years, Team World’s Largest Swimming Lesson (WLSL) has set five Guinness World Records (GWR) for the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson™, with 36,564 swimmers from 22 countries participating in 2014.  More importantly, the WLSL team effort has spread the vital message “Swimming Lessons Save Lives™”, through more than 150 million media impressions.

Since the first event in 2010, more than 120,000 people have participated in WLSL events and millions and millions of individuals have learned about the vital importance of teaching children to swim to help prevent the second leading cause of accidental death for kids.  Help the Farmington Aquatic Center spread the vital message “Swimming Lessons Save Lives™”.
Together, let’s set the 6th Guinness World Record this year.

The World's Largest Swimming Lesson is designed for children ages 1 to 14 and registration will be required the day of the event, if you are not already at the Aquatic Center for a previously scheduled swimming lesson.
