April is Global Volunteer Month!
Throughout April, we’ll be featuring City of Farmington volunteers and highlighting the contributions they’ve made in our community.
Today’s volunteer spotlight is on Sandy Eastep. Sandy has been serving at the Bonnie Dallas Senior Center for 6 1/2 years working with the Home Delivered Meal Program (formerly Meals on Wheels). She loves volunteering because she says the seniors are always so glad to see someone when she arrives. She even buys dog treats to give to the dogs when she delivers. Sandy worked for the City of Farmington for 16 years as a custodian. She started eating lunch at the senior center and enjoyed it so much that when she retired on a Friday, she started volunteering the following Monday. Since then, Sandy has contributed more than 1,500 hours of her time to serving the seniors in our community.
Thanks for your service, Sandy!
