ICYMI: City of Farmington Enacted a Stage 1 Water Shortage Advisory

What does this mean for a citizen?

Recent drought conditions have resulted in historically low stream flow in the rivers.  While Farmington Lake, the City's drinking water reservoir, remains at 100% capacity, a stage 1 water shortage advisory has been enacted to encourage water conservation and to motivate citizens to voluntarily reduce water usage by 10%.  Currently, the goal is to reduce overall water demand by 10% in order to preserve water in storage for those times of the year when the rivers normally have low stream flow.
