Stetson catalouge

Curator's Choice Lecture Series:

Stetson - Manufacturing an American Icon

John B. Stetson is commonly credited with inventing the cowboy hat and revolutionizing the hatting industry. Stetson’s hat remains an American icon known and respected around the world, but the company that bears his name has gone through significant changes since its birth on the American frontier in the 1860s. A tale filled with monumental achievements and epic failures, the history of Stetson is a microcosm of American manufacturing in the twentieth century. Featuring a cast of actors, politicians, working cowboys, and city slickers who just want to look good, it is a story more compelling than anything found on the big screen.

Join us at the Farmington Museum from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. for this free presentation. For more info call (505) 599-1174 or visit www.fmtn.org/FarmingtonMuseum.
