Giving Thanks to Our Veterans Meal November 10 @ 11:00 a.m. Get your "Our 60 Year Journey" card stamped for a chance to win great prizes! $5.00 at the Farmington Indian Center

The Farmington Indian Center invites everyone to our annual dinner where we take time to honor, thank, and recognize all veterans and their families for their service to our great country. Come early and enjoy a special free presentation, A Historical Perspective of Naabaahii Navajo Warriors, starting at 10:00 a.m. by Dr. Evangeline Parsons-Yazzie. Thanksgiving Potluck on November 10 starting at 6:00 p.m. at Sycamore Park Community Center. We'll bring the turkey, you bring a side to share!


Come for the fellowship. Come for the food. Come to serve. Thanksgiving Celebration - November 17. Christmas Celebration - December 15. Lunch served from 11:45 to 1:00. To volunteer contact the Senior Center.

Join us at the Bonnie Dallas Senior Center in Farmington for our annual Thanksgiving and Christmas celebration lunchs from 11:45 to 1:00! Lunch is $6.00 for those 59 and younger, or a $3.00 suggested donation for those 60 and older. Volunteers are also needed to help serve lunch this day. For more information call (505) 599-1380. 

2017 Turkey Trot 5K and Gobble Wobble 2-mile walk in historic downtown Farmington on November 18, 2017. Start time 9:00am.

The City of Farmington's Parks, Recreation & Cultural Affairs is bringing you a great American tradition known as a Turkey Trot! $3 from every entry will be donated to the Special Olympics of New Mexico. 

Registration includes a meal ticket and a race t-shirt. This is a family event with activities such as children's carnival games, a costume contest and more! This is an all-weather event, so plan to come - rain or shine! $20 if registered by November 15 or $30 if registering on November 16 or 17. SHIPWRECK! Pirates & Treasure. Discover the World of Shipwreck Treasures at the Farmington Museum September 30-February 17

Looking for something to do during Christmas break? SHIPWRECK! Pirates & Treasure, Presented by Monaco Rare Coins, brings real shipwreck treasures - and the technology used to recover it - right to the Farmington Museum! Find out what it's like to be a shipwreck explorer, the captain of a sinking ship or a pirate on the run with hands-on activities including a robotic arm to pick up treasure and a hurricane simulator to challenge the storm. Discover more than 500 priceless artifacts recovered from famous shipwrecks including real gold and silver treasure recovered from thousands of feet deep. This exhibit is $7.00 for adults and $4.00 for kids (3-12), 2 and under FREE and is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday and 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturdays. Come celebrate the holidays at the Farmington Recreation Center's holiday open house at 1101 Fairgrounds Rd. Visit Santa and tell him what you want for Christmas! Make a special holiday ornament for the Recreation Center Christmas tree and one to take home or give as a gift. We will have refreshments, fun holiday games, and cool holiday door prizes. Come enjoy the holidays with us and get a preview of what programs and activities we will be offering in 2018!

Audubon Christmas Bird Count

December 16 - 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The Riverside Nature Center in Farmington will be part of this nationwide project, which is an opportunity for volunteers to aid in scientific research which has been carried out for over 100 years. Spend part or all of the day with other birders counting all the birds, common or rare, abundant or scarce, in their wintering grounds here. The statistics are used nationwide to follow changes and trends in bird populations. The area of Berg and Animas Parks has been included for over 30 years. Groups will be walking the parks, and others will be observing feeders. Beginner and experienced birders are all able to help.

Reindeer Romp & North Pole Stroll

December 16 - 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Join us for a little holiday cheer and participate in the Reindeer Romp or the North Pole Stroll in historic downtown Farmington. This is a family-friendly event with activities such as children's winter carnival games, holiday music, hot chocolate and apple cider, cookies, and a chance to meet Santa! Registration is $15 if completed by December 13 and $25 on December 14 and 15.
