Earth Day April 21 from 11:00 to 2:00 at Riverside Nature Center

Create art from recycled materials, learn about curbside recycling, take a guided trail walk, learn about the Xericscape Demonstration Garden, and try other activities with staff and volunteers from our Parks Department at Riverside Nature Center in Animas Park in Farmington from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Bring your own art from recycled materials to show and share. Health & Safety Fair. A free community event. At Sycamore Park Community Center. April 21, 2018 from 11:00 to 2:00 in conjunction with Childhaven's Kites and Kids.


Choices: an Inspirational Presentation. Choose Pride. Choose Success. Choose Yourself. Be a survivor. Hear the story of a domestic violence survivor. April 24 at Sycamore Park Community Center from 6 to 8 pm

Join the Farmington Police Department at Sycamore Park Community Center for Choices: An Inspirational Presentation facing domestic violence from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Hear a story of a domestic violence survivor, learn about the realities of domestic violence and hear victim advocate updates. Bark in the Park & Doggie Dash. 11 - 3 in Animas Park on April 28.

Run, Romp, and play at the Farmington Regional Animal Shelter, 133 Browning Parkway, in the Animas Park grounds with your favorite canine friend and family. Educational and entertaining activities will abound for the whole family.

The Doggie Dash loop in the park starts at 10:00 a.m., and approximately two (2) miles. The loop starts at the Riverfest Runs location in Animas Park. Pre-registration for the event will be from March 1 through April 28, 5:00 p.m., and guarantees you a shirt and your walking pal a doggie bandanna. Doggie Dash check-in will start at 8:30. Shirts will be available for sale when the Bark in the Park begins. Proceeds will benefit the Farmington Regional Animal Shelter through the Regional Animal and Pet Shelter Foundation. Spend your summer on the water! Become a lifeguard for Farmington Aquatics! Lifeguard Class - May 1-8 (weekdays) from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. $100

Farmington Aquatic Center offers lifeguard certification classes, but you must pass the pre-test first to qualify. 

Once you become a certified lifeguard you can apply to work for Farmington Aqutics and spend your summers at Lake Farmington, Lions Pool, and the Aquatic Center starting at $9.00 per hour, and you don't even have to wear shoes to work!

Spring Mini-Contest Pow-Wow held at the Farmington Museum on Saturday, May 12, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sponsored by the Farmington Indian Center

Don’t miss this opportunity for local dancers, singers, and spectators to socialize and exercise at the Spring Mini-contest Pow-Wow at the Farmington Museum. On-site registration starts at 10:00 a.m. Gourd Dancing from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Grand Entry at 2:00 p.m.

Park Play Day

Join our department at various neighborhood parks across the city for some good, old-fashioned fun! Play tag, ladder golf, shoot hoops, do a scavenger hunt, roll down hills, or just come enjoy the sun and shade at our monthly Park Play Days. Come to fish or enjoy the water on a non-motorized watercraft (free on-site aquatic invasive species inspection required before entering), swim at The Beach, or get some exercise exploring the shoreline. Join us at the Farmington Museum to celebrate our newest exhibit, Dinosaurs of New Mexico: Fossils from the Collection of the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science. There will be a plethora of prehistoric crafts and activities for kids and adults alike to enjoy. Bring your family and friends to the FREE dinosaur diversion.
