At the city of Farmington's Parks, Recreation, & Cultural Affairs we offer tons of programs and activities that keep kids of all ages physically and mentally active, like our monthly Park Play Days. Each month we pick a neighborhood park for a little organized, FREE fun! These are great places to meet your neighbors and remember how awesome a trip to the park can be. Meet us at the following parks this summer:

  • Milagro Park - June 26 - 6:00 to 7:00 pm
  • Westside Estates Park - July 16 - 10:00 am till noon
  • Indian Center Park - August 19 - 4:00 to 6:00 pm 
  • Beckland Park - September 7 - 10:00 am till noon

Herb & Xeriscape Demonstration Garden Tours, June 15 from 9:00 to 10:30 am at Riverside Nature Center.
Walk a Shelter Dog. Get exercise and fresh air and make a shelter dog's day! Farmington Regional Animal Shelter.
Butterfly Walk on June 22 from 1-3pm at Riverside Nature Center.
Summer Art Walk. June 14, 219 from 5-9 p,. Historic Downtown Farmington - the HeART of Farmington
 

Downtown Stroll & Art Walk

Downtown Farmington has four major Art Walks a year. Our summer walk is June 14 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. In addition to the galleries located in Historic Downtown Farmington, many of the non-art-related businesses participate by hosting local artists during the Art Walks.

Sandstone outdoor summer theater presents All Shook Up!

Join us at Lions Wilderness Amphitheater for our outdoor summer theater production of All Shook Up! Shows are Thursday, Friday, and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. 

Tickets: $12 for adults, $8 for seniors/students, $7 children under 12 yrs old.

Field Day

Join the Farmington Recreation Center at Kiwanis Park for an afternoon of activities including parachute games, an obstacle course, races of all kinds, and more on Friday, June 21 from noon till 3 pm! Don’t forget your sunscreen and water bottle. Popsicles will be provided! For kids eight (8) to 12 years old. Dragonfly Walk
 

Dragonfly Walk

Join our nature center staff on a walk to observe and learn about dragonflies on Saturday, June 29 from 10 am till noon at Riverside Nature Center. We will catch a few for up-close study, as well as watch them in their river and wetlands habitat. Binoculars are helpful. We will look for these colorful insects near the wetland and along the river on a walk of about a mile. FREE
